Dear little sisters,
The recent events targeting the Black community have exposed, once again, the painful truths about what is, and has been, broken in our country. As founders and leaders, we have discussed where we stand with our Blue Fever team and feel it’s extremely important to be just as transparent with our community:
Black lives matter.
Over the past few weeks, we’ve dedicated ourselves to researching systemic racism to gain a better understanding of our role in the disempowerment of Black people. While we still have a long way to go, it’s clear that we must prioritize immediate and sustainable long-term actions to instill a truly anti-racist culture within our company, community and beyond.
Here is how this will affect...
Current Blue Fever:
We are auditing and updating existing SMS product #HeyBlue to ensure our resources and recommendations best support marginalized groups and cultivate active allyship throughout our community
We are currently designing a new app that will deliver community support to marginalized young people
We stay committed to creating and presenting brand content that aligns with our core values, which include the core value: Earn the ‘Ally’ Title
Future Blue Fever:
Anti-racism starts at the top. Therefore, we are committed to prioritizing the hiring of additional BIPOC leadership
We are investing in new ways to improve our diverse culture at Blue Fever, starting with internal development programs, diversity & inclusion training, unconscious bias training, allyship training, and wholly reshaping our recruiting initiatives to ensure inclusivity throughout our entire organization
We are setting up the Blue Fever Junior Board, a diverse group of Gen-Zers responsible for guiding decisions directly affecting the types of support we offer our community
“Ally” is a title we are committed to earning from the Black community with continuous awareness, education and action. We will also continue to strengthen our allyship with POC, Indigenous people, LGBTQIA+, people with disabilities, those who live with mental illnesses, and anyone whose voice has been silenced.
Blue Fever is here to support the intersectionality and totality of all of your identities. We know you are not just one thing, and we aim to celebrate the beauty in that. As always, we encourage you to come forward to share your ideas and your strength during this time of intense trauma and slow healing—we are listening. Your support is appreciated as we continue this ongoing racial equity journey to dismantle white supremacy and create a future of equality, respect and opportunity for all.
With love and big sis energy 💙
