Product-Marketing Data Strategist 

We’re looking for a senior-level data strategist to lead a data department in a fast-paced, growing internet tech startup. REQUIRED: You have already worked in data at, at least, one consumer internet tech company.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all growing data responsibilities and small data team at Blue Fever

    • Be able to execute on-the-ground data tasks while thinking strategically about where the company’s data systems and architecture need to move next

      • Think ahead to plan, for example, what we will need within our data side when we’ll likely triple in user growth over the next 6 months

    • Communicate across product, marketing and development teams

    • Communicate between in-house employees and external data consultants

    • Manage and develop lower level data hires and data interns (likely 2-4)

  • Maintain/build data dashboards (visualizations) that are actionable for the team, including non-technical stakeholders

  • Analyze KPI’s to provide recommendations on potential areas of growth and new opportunities as well as suggesting new KPI’s to be monitored

  • Manage on-going data analysis projects

  • Devise areas of experimentation that may influence product decisions

  • Creatively find proxies to fill in for questions that inhouse data is not currently available

  • Consistently seek out improvements in internal reporting and monitoring with a goal of increasing efficiency, accuracy and relevancy as the product develops and changes

  • Report weekly (and sometimes daily) on product and marketing data

  • Stay up to date with best practices, new technology, and relevant competitor and data studies information that may provide useful new tech partners or strategy improvements

About You

  • You have worked in data analysis at a, ideally, consumer internet company or startup

  • You have analytical and creative mind

  • You want to make a positive impact on the world

  • 4-8 years of professional data analysis experience

  • You have managed others within a data team

  • You like to work in a fast-paced environment

  • You have excellent prioritization skills

  • You have a quantitative based Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a field such as computer science, engineering, economics, mathematics or statistics

  • You are a master of conveying complexity to others in a way that is understandable and actionable

  • Expert level SQL

  • Expert level Python or similar

  • Expert level R or similar

  • Experience with Google Analytics

  • Experience with Tableau

  • Bonus if you have experience using Facebook Business Manager data

  • Bonus points if you have worked in or love media/film/TV
